The Jabber Client softphone feature will let you do several tasks from your computer and/or smartphone, such as send instant messages, share your availability via your Outlook calendar, share your desktop, make calls from your computer using a headset, manage your voicemails, and more.

How to Install & Configure

Note: To install the Jabber Client for your mobile device, you MUST have your account configured.

CISCO Jabber Client for iPhone – 

  • Step 1 - Go to the App Store on your iPhone.

  • Step 2 - Search for the CISCO Jabber app. 

  • Step 3 - Download  & Install the app, but DO NOT open the app.

  • ​Step 4 - Using your iPhone, open a web browser and click on this link

  • Step 5 - Now you can open the Jabber app with KerberosID@ucdavis.edu / Kerberos Passphrase

​CISCO Jabber Client for Android – 

  • Step 1 - Go to the Play Store on your Android device.

  • Step 2 - Search for the CISCO Jabber app. 

  • Step 3 - Download  & Install the app, but DO NOT open the app.

  • ​Step 4 - Using your Android device, open a web browser and click on this link 

  • Step 5 - Now you can open the Jabber app with KerberosID@ucdavis.edu / Kerberos Passphrase

Note: Administrative privileges may be required to install the Jabber client on your Windows or Mac computer. Please contact your IT support staff for assistance.

CISCO Jabber Windows client (Click here to view installation guide) -

  • Step 1 - Download and unzip setup files - Download Windows Client Here

  • Step 2 - Once unzipped, double-click on the "Launch to Install Jabber" file to install the client (You will need Administrative privileges to install)

  • ​Step 3 - Once installed, launch client with KerberosID@ucdavis.edu / Kerberos Passphrase

CISCO Jabber Mac client -

  • Step 1 - Download & Unzip Setup File – Download Mac Client Here

  • Step 2 - Install (but DO NOT run the application)

  • ​Step 3 - Once installed, open a web browser and click on this link 

  • Step 4 - Now you can launch the application with KerberosID@ucdavis.edu / Kerberos Passphrase
